We are planning for a Tuesday Sept. 27th start to the fall Hillbounding season. The time will once again be 5:30 pm at the Bairds Creek Parkway. We again will have the hill lights and should expect a blending of both junior and Master skiers. We meet at the top of the West Hill in the upper lot.
Poles of the classic length or shorter are needed. Pole quality is not important. Good fitting stout running shoes with grippy soles are a plus.
Water bottles, dry clothes and warmup clothes are important as it is typically chilly at the onset but you warm quickly. Coaches: Camera's, video are recomemnded as we are in a faily condenced space and technique issues often arise here.
The workout typically goes to 7:00 pm. In the past late comers struggled with playing catch-up and terms. The 1st sessions will be very important and expect a "walk through" of sorts the 1st night. This is possibly the most important workout of the week and it would be good to shedule around it. Every attempt will be made to minimize stress while maintaining the quality of the workout. I would expect the technical aspect of bounding to improve as for many skiers as they enter multiable years.
Be SURE and do a little advance work. Some early ski bounding/striding will be a HUGE plus. See you on the 26th.
