What a week. We went from bitter cold ice and crust to snow, snow and then more snow and now blizzard like conditions. I have started writing this Wed. morning and am just finishing it now. What a week.

We talked of a long ski, well Sat is probably not the day for it. Tonight we expect below zero so hopefully that will firm it up for Sunday. The temps should moderate by Tues and staying in the twenties after that.

I have been skiing at Neshota this week and the threat of rocky trails has diminished. There still are some grooming issues at Neshota but for the time being the rocks are buried.(1) The climbs are the closest things we have big hills and by doing repeats you get to experiance  them one after the other. Hopefully they will catch up on the grooming. The outer loop Friday had 5 inches of unpacked snow on it and I could still hear some rocks under my poles and there was a mound of snow from where they buried the groomer on the uphill but it was still a good workout.

(1) Never say never, one could always appear.

Wednesday night was a swell night with a solid effort. 150 dips where not enough for some. Too easy said Jeff M. hmmmmm.

Lakewood has had a breakdown of the PB but Fred A. says they will have it up and running this weekend and have been grooming with the Skandic. Hopefully this snow will make the camp 100% but I think it will take a day or two unless they groom tonight (please). Sundays the day, get that long ski in and enjoy the new snow.

No one got the STC last week which was the Bergans binding with two pins. Bergan Norway.

STC: There was a XC ski made in the 80s that had an integrated binding built right into the ski. It was an ill fated design and lasted slightly longer than the ski season in St. Louis. Who made the ski?
