Crusty Butt
A friend of mine lived in Crested Butte CO and she always said how good the skiing was there. She failed to mention that they had to drive 40 minutes to ski on a groomed trail and that breathing there was akin to sucking air through a straw. Neverless the area is beautiful and very little skiing is as good as spring crust skiing in the mountains.......until today! After yesterday mornings slush rush the colder morning temps gave up the best crust skiing in years. Fast, effortless, sunny with the rime covering every branch.....this was it.
Watch your forcast, cold night temps with morning sun and warming temps. Ice, golf courses or ungroomed trails and parks not only offer spectactular skiing but a chance to roam and explore the outside world.
I would like to get together SUNDAY for a years wrap up/ ski/ social out at the camp. The long weather forcast does not look good and you know how much I hate weather geeks. I will make a better call tommorow. Let's plan on a TENATIVE 11:00 am meet. Should be warm and if nice we could have Joe Brand model his extensive line of skiing bikini's. ( It's ok....he is a doctor!) Tell your friends and bring one too. Check here Thurs/Friday for confirmation.
Enjoy the crust
