Practice week of 1/8

Conditions will be favorable to make snow this week in Madison , we are all signed up to race the team sprints on Saturday afternoon!  We have rooms and we need to finalize plans; please get with the Blocks if you need room space.  Also, the races on Sunday are also on your agenda, If you are going to Madison , you need to go online and sign up for the Sunday sprints!  The team did not enter you in that, only the HS relays.

Also, not a time to rest on your laurels,  we will continue to build fitness and strength with a focus on peaking for State.  The rest of the state now knows at least about the boys based on our Conserve results,  we ourselves don’t know about our girls.  Time to keep the training progression going.

Monday:  ITP skate RS,  at 335 pm till 5 pm,   We will adjust to conditions but I expect this will have a speed focus.  It there is ice on the roads, have running shoes along we will go for a trot with poles.

Tuesday:  The pit, hill bounding – good intensity last week, we will up the intensity a little bit 335 pm till 510 pm.  12 bounds and various other things.  We want to have a strong 1.5 hour workout.

Wednesday, on your own.  Light aerobic workout and strength.  The easiest way to get better in the next 4 weeks is to get quicker and strong so strength is key.

Thursday;  Ashwaubomay – Classic, catskis and classic RS, mini relays (like pickups), boys v girls with a handicap system devised by yours truly 335pm to 5 pm.

Thursday evening 6 pm to 8 pm ski waxing open at Putmans.

Friday –  I have to travel to race the Seeley Hills classic marathon by Hayward, Coach Nelson will be our sprint coach and it the marathon gets delayed a week then I will be able to join you.

Saturday:  Team sprints and citizen FS 5k

Sunday:  Individual classic sprints qualifiers and JOQ/HS semis and finals,  citizen CL 5k
