Practice this week 1/3/2006

Yes it's 2006 in what should be the heart of the racing season for the team. For elites, you should be working on fine tuning your technique and managing your health and fitness. It doesn't mean you ski easy all the time outside of races. It also doesn't mean that you should radically try to improve your conditioning now. We have high hopes for all of you and look forward to seeing you do your best.

For you learners, you have various combinations of ski specific muscles to build, techniques to master, conditioning to work on for your long term development. We have seen some amazing progress by our newer skiers. The races for you will be an entree in a multi-course meal of technique, conditioning, time on skis and fun with your teammates.

Today we will be at the Camp after all. Bring classic rock skis. We will wax at the trailhead and hope to be skiing by 4:00. Coach Putman will have some rock skis and wax available, but if you have it, bring your own. There's a good chance that this will be a good klister wax day. When these days are good, they can be some of the best classic skiing you will ever have. Fast with great kick. Here's hoping for that!

Wednesday, on your own, but with a race coming up and the holidays where many of you didn't ski much, get out and do something.

Thursday to be determined, but hopefully with some new snow at the camp
